A black cube levitates and revolves atop a concrete plinth, seemingly defying gravity. Neo-curio presents an apparent impossibility.

An electromagnetic current forces the 3d printed form to repel the raw concrete structure, which would otherwise support it. The sculptural form is presented as a remnant artefact from an unidentified dystopian setting. This motif of a magic cube can be traced throughout fictional stories as an object of otherworldly power, referenced from science fiction to ancient mythology.

Neo-curio suspends in space, as though under the power of a supernatural force. The work occupies a tension between the remarkable and the mundane, the known and the supernatural.
